Dec. 3

*Report cards came home today. They are folded in half and stapled with your child's name on the front. Please review, sign and return to school. I will mark it on my list and return to you to keep. Please read the report card information letter. It will help explain the report card. If you have any questions, please call or email. If you would like a conference before January, please let me know. I am available on Friday, Dec. 5th. I have some meetings, but I would have some time open.
Morning Meeting-We sang some of the songs we are working on for our Winter Program. Nicolle shared her star suitcase today. We also did letter bucket.
Specials-We had Phy. Ed. and library today
*We went to the book fair this morning. Your child wrote down a name of one book they liked. The book fair is open if you choose to send money tomorrow.
Read Aloud-We read the story "Rude Giants". A girl and her pet cow helped the giants learn to use good manners. It was a funny way to learn about the importance of being nice to others.
Shared Reading-We learned about the "at" family of words today. We added letters to the "at" sound to make new words...cat, sat, vat, mat, rat...We read the story "Nat at Bat" together as a whole class and then again with partners. It came home today in the pouch. Please read with your child tonight and keep in a safe place so it can be reread again.
Rest Time-We read another chapter from "The Magic School Bus, the Shark Escape". Today the Magic School Bus shrunk and went inside the stomach of a Tiger Shark
Math-We did calendar and calendar book. Yesterday was a Zero Hero day. We have already had 61 days of kindergarten! WOW ! We then played the Monster Squeeze Game in math. We played it as a group. The students are now making their own monster games to play with a partner tomorrow.
We finished the day practicing our songs with all of the other kindergarten classrooms.
