Reading Activity-We had independent reading today. We also had shared reading. We read the story "Snow". We also reread "Nat at Bat" and "lunch" and "School".
Writing-We wrote letters to Santa today.
Math-We made symmetrical trees today. We did it as a listening lesson. We had to be quiet and use our ears and eyes to listen. I gave one direction and then the students did that direction. We started with a large green triangle, folded in half, drew 2 dots and a line. We cut on the line to make a big triangle. We folded it back again and then cut triangles out of the side to make it look more like an evergreen tree. When we were done cutting our tree, we used 2 dice to put dots "ornaments" on the tree. The students added up the dice and put that many dots on his/her tree. Tomorrow we will add glitter.
Program Practice-We went into Mrs. Leaman's room to practice for our winter program. Mrs. Petersmeyer was there to play the piano.
